We often think about toxic behavior with regards to others actions, but rarely when it comes to ourselves. Eliminating toxic behavior and habits are essential to caring for ourselves. Kristian and Christine will be in conversation with Danni McGhee, the founder of DAM Good Vegan. Danni will discuss diet, exercise, alcohol and drug use, self medicating as a toxic form of healing, and the importance of seeking professional therapy for mental and health- related issues. Eliminating toxic behavior and habits are essential to caring for ourselves.
Relationships are unavoidable--you're born into them (family) or you choose them (friends and lovers.) But what should you do when these relationships turn toxic? Kristian and Christine will be in conversation with Jihan Madyun of The Fulfillment Project. Jihan will address the physical and metaphysical damage of being in unhealthy relationships. Spending habits play an important role in our quality of life. It can be difficult to talk about money, and even harder to talk about toxic spending. Have no fear--we're here to help. Christine will be in conversation with Roe Cummings, 1/2 of Instagram's most lovable minimalist family, Brown Kids and Keila Hill-Trawick of Little Fish Accounting to discuss finances. In addition to discussing emotional spending, conscious consumerism, and the importance of saving, Christine, Roe and Keila will share personal stories from their journey to minimalism as well as expert financial advice. Our words have power. And removing toxic communication is at the core of being able to love fully. Kristian and Christine will be in conversation with Alex Elle who will provide healthy ways to remove toxic communication from our daily conversations--both those we have with others and ourselves. The statistics are staggering--Black women are three to four times more likely to die from childbirth than non-Hispanic white women, and socioeconomic status, education, and other factors do not protect against this disparity. Kristian and Christine will be in conversation with Ebony Marcelle, Director of Midwifery at Community of Hope, to engage in rethinking birthing options for Black mothers. Ebony will give insight barriers to quality, equitable healthcare, logistics of receiving maternal care, and the emotional and psychological effects of inequitable prenatal care. Kristian will be in conversation with Dr. Isfahan Chambers-Harris, Founder of Alodia Hair Care and Abir Ibrahim, Founder of Inua to discuss the importance of utilizing natural products, and the impact that product creation has on the environment and communities.
